Caring for Cutlery

The best way to treat you cutlery is hand washing. Always use mild detergents and soft sponge to clean. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or steel wool, scrubbing pads and bleach detergents. Wash your cutlery as soon as possible and do not leave cutlery to soak or drain in dishwasher / sink for long time. After washing, dry with a soft cloth. Avoid a direct contact of stainless steel cutlery with aluminium as it releases chlorine, which can lead to discoloration of stainless steel.

How to Hold Fork and Knife

Hold the fork in your left hand and knife in the right just the way the picture depicts. The ends of both the cutlery should rest well in your palm. This is called the hidden handle method.

How to Use the Fork and Knife

Place the prongs of the fork into the food and hold it in place, slice a food portion with knife. To cut into food on your plate, pick up and hold your knife in your right hand. The index finger is mostly straight and rests near the base of the top and your thumb juxtaposes it on the side. The other four fingers wrap around the handle.

When you are done

The fork faces downwards with knife sitting on the right side to indicate that you are done with your meal.
